Venue Tips!

Your venue is literally the backdrop of your wedding and/or event and should be selected for its style or openness to create any style.  Not only do you want to think logistically about the location of the venue, but also the size and restraints that come along with it.  Be sure to find out what is included when you book the venue, and if there are select vendors that are required for use.

** WHEN you're on vacation, what type of restaurants do you select?

** WHAT would be the style of your ideal dinner party?

** WHAT is your favorite restaurant, and why?

** ARE you more of a nighttime or daytime person?

** DO you prefer the indoors or outdoors?

Good advice from David! :)

Can't find it? Don't panic!

We’ve all had those days where we’re running late and you think you have everything you need so you may be able to make it on time. BUT THEN, you remember something you forgot, like your keys! You can’t find them and you don’t have time to tear up the whole house looking for them.

Here are some FIND-IT Quick tips from Good Housekeeping.

1) Can’t find something you stashed “somewhere safe”?
It’s probably above eye level and in the dark. Check closets, top of the fridge and a shelf in the basement.

2) Can’t find your keys-again?
Make an extra set or two and keep them in a designated place for those times you must leave the house ASAP.

3) Can’t find earrings or a favorite moisturizer?
Check your suitcase, a sinkhole for lost items because they might not have been unpacked after a trip.

Please Join Us!

On Saturday, August 27rd from 11:00am to 10:30pm the management of Tapatio’s Mexican Restaurant, located in S. Florida Ave. in Lakeland will donate the 50% of all the revenue for that day to Dr. Diaz’ fund! Please come with your family and support this fundraising event!

A few months ago a great Polk County pediatrician suffered a stroke and other problems which affected his brain leaving Dr. Miguel Diaz in a coma for six weeks. Dr. Diaz was a dedicated pediatrician who never denied anyone his services regardless if the patient had medical insurance or not. He even helped his patients’ families with the costs of their prescriptions. His mission was to SERVE FIRST!

Dr. Diaz woke up from his coma and he is currently in a rehab facility. This human being shared his love, dedication, passion, and money to all his patients and now his family needs you. The costs for rehab are outrageous and his family is reaching out to this community to help them - the same way he always helped others! A group of Polk County doctors along with the patients of Dr. Diaz have contacted us for help, and we are helping!  Let’s help Dr. Diaz the same way that he helped our Polk County kids for the last 14 years! Now it is our turn to show him our appreciation!

Let’s get together to enjoy the delicious food for a great cause!!  Please spread the word…Let’s help Dr. Miguel Diaz!!

Thank YOU to All our wonderful sponsors of Dr. Miguel Diaz’ Medical Trust Fundraising!!! All of you ROCK!!! Thanks to them we are having a GREAT drawing for all the supporters!!!!!   (and many more sponsors to come!)

Tips for Bridesmaid Dresses

o   Make sure you have enough time to select the dresses, get them fitted or tailored and get shipped or picked up. It may take a few months if you’re ordering from a company not in state.

o   Make sure your bridesmaids can move around. Check sleeves and seams to be sure everything fits but is loose enough so they can groove on the dance floor.

o   You may have seen ugly bridesmaid dresses in movies or have even been one of those bridesmaids wearing the ugly dresses. It’s okay to get the opinion of your bridesmaids.

o   Remember that the dresses will be in pictures forever. Make sure they’re flattering on everyone.

o   Bridesmaid dresses should match your wedding colors. Don’t pick something just because it looked pretty in the store.  If it’s not in your theme, put it back on the rack.
